Currently, the head of the department of adolescent psychiatry is Golovina Alla Gennadiyevna, Doctor of Medical Sciences. In 2000, she defended her PhD thesis «Adaptation of adolescents with schizophrenia, in the parental family (on the example of seizures-progenitor and mild schizophrenia), in 2011 - the doctoral thesis «Phobic syndromes in the structure of mental pathology in adolescents».
Her scientific interests involve borderline mental pathology, including disorders associated with stress, schizophrenic spectrum disorders, assumptions, features of clinical presentation, dynamics and outcomes of mental disorders at the stage of adolescence, The problem of early prevention of mental pathologies, in particular psychotic formations, as well as questions of the social functioning of adolescents suffering from mental disorders, psychopharmacotherapy and socio-rehabilitative approaches during adulthood; Psycho-education as part of the adaptation of adolescents with mental disorders.
A.G. Golovina actively participates in the life of professional psychiatric and scientific communities: is a member of the dissertation Council on specialty «Psychiatry» FBNU NTPZ, editorial board of the magazine «Modern therapy in psychiatry and neurology».

The Department was formed in 1998, on the basis of a clinical unit of medical and rehabilitation care, which became an independent structural unit in 1982-83, when the MHRC RAMS was being organized. The Department works in out-patient and in-patient structures of municipal healthcare system of Moscow (psychoneurological out-patient centre #21, municipal policlinic, Multimedical Out-patient Centre for Adolescency in the Municipal Clinical Psychiatric Hospital #15).

 

Scope of research activities of the Department:

  • Determination and assessment of spectrum of psychopathological disorders observed in adolescency, in comparative nosological and age-related aspects.
  • Clinical and follow-up assessment of endoform mental pathology of adolescence, criteria of its clinical and nosological differentiation.
  • Evaluation of the role of social and environmental impact on clinical compensation / decompensation of adolescents with mental abnormalities.
  • Evaluation of the phenomenon of school maladaptation in adolescents with mental disorders and its predisposing factors.
  • Optimization of out-patient treatment of adolescents with mental pathology. Elaboration of a rehabilitation system aimed at their resocialization.
