Kaleda; Chief Nurse - G.V. Dyomkina From 1982 to 1988 the Clinic was headed by doctor of medical sciences, professor V.S. Yastrebov, doctor of medical sciences Ye.G. Trifonov was the Chief Physician of the Clinic from 1988 to 2002. O.S. Rumyantseva has been the Chief Physician of the Clinic since 2002. The Chief Physician is a member of the board of directors of the MHRC RAMS, being responsible for the treatment process done in the Centre. The clinical department of the MHRC RAMS is the leading psychiatric establishment of the Russian Federation and the clinical in-patient basis for a conduction of clinical and biological trials, which are performed in accordance with the scientific plan of the Centre. It is functioning for admittance, clinical examination, diagnostics and treatment of psychiatric patients, including those referred for clarification of the diagnosis and for overcoming therapeutic resistance to drugs. Patients are admitted to the Centre's clinical department by the referrals from psychoneurologic out-patient centres, hospitals, and other medical establishments of Moscow, the Moscow region, Russian Federation, foreign countries, including the republics of the former USSR, as well as from consultative medical departments of the Ministry of Health of Russian Federation and RAMS. Patients are hospitalized after a preliminary consultative examination, that is done either directly or extramuraly (according to medical documentation) by a commission, which includes representatives of clinical divisions of the Centre. Various clinical departments provide medical care for patients of both gender, with various mental pathology, including borderline state and endogenous psychoses (neurotic, somatoform disorders, depressions, delusional states, hallucinatory-delusional states, affective psychoses, etc.), as well as dementia and vascular-organic brain diseases. The Centre has departments for patients of childhood-adolescent age, for young age and for the elderly, for patients with an acute onset of psychoses, as well as sanatorium-type departments for patients with borderline mental disorders. The clinical departments are equipped with modern equipment. The last achievements and methods of modern medical science are used for diagnostics and treatment. There is also a big group of physicians, rendering specialized neurological, ophthalmologic, stomatologic, gynecological, and other types of assistance to the patients. In total, 80 psychiatrists, 14 clinical psychologists, 169 nurses and 74 hospital attendants work in the clinical departments. The staff schedule for every clinical department includes the Head of the department, who is responsible for medical and administrative work in the department and is assisting the Head of the clinical department of the Centre. Also, it includes psychiatrists, an internist, a neurologist, and a clinical psychologist. Diagnostics and treatment are carried out with a direct participation of research fellows of the Centre. Day and night care and observation of patients in clinical departments are also provided by qualified nurses. The staff of the MHRC RAMS works in a number of out-patient bases, which are situated outside the Centre and include 4 Moscow psychoneurologic out-patient centres, 5 medical-diagnostic centres, 8 municipal territorial general medical consultative centres, 3 children orphan homes, 3 child care centres, 1 gynecological consultation office. Besides they cooperate with 3 Research Institutes of RAMS (Institute of Nutrition, Centre of Endocrinology, Centre of Occupational Diseases). On average, employees of the Centre provide out-patient care to 20,000 persons annually. In-patient department of the clinic has 400 beds. Annually about 1500-2000 patients are treated there, and 4000 - 5000 patients receive medical care on an out-patient basis. Each in-patient department has 2-, 3- and 4-bed wards, a ward of intensive observation, as well as blocks, consisting of 1- and 2-bed wards with a separate WC and a shower room. Each department has TV sets and free phones for patients. There is also a library for patients. Patients can attend public worships in the hospital church, located in the main building of the MHRC RAMS, which was consecrated by patriarch Alexiy II in 1994. Treatment in the clinical departments of the MHRC RAMS is voluntary. In accordance with art. 29 of the Law of the Russian Federation “On psychiatric care and on civil rights and guarantees related to it”, providing of medical care in a non-voluntary way is not done. The Clinic does not participate in any kind of patients' expertise. Drug addicts, epileptic patients, patients with toxicomanias, brain traumas are not admitted to the Clinic. Also, patients, who are under criminal investigation, are not hospitalized, as well. |
