Reception of WHO representatives, Discussions on Crucial Problems of Psychiatry, and Acquaintance with the Activities of the Mental Health Research Center.

A group of WHO experts visited the Mental Health Research Center on May 4, 2001. The group consisted of Prof. F. Baro - vice-director on problems of psychiatry in the Belgium Interuniversity research center; Dr. P. Breier - director of out-patient services in Bratislava (Slovakia); Dr. J. Czabala - Deputy Director for Research Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw: Prof. H. Dilling - Prof. of the psychiatry in the Medical University in Lubeck (Germany); Prof. J. Guimon - Director of Department of Psychiatry, First Psychiatric Clinic Belle-Idee in Geneva (Switzerland); B. Tudorashe - the President of the Roumanian League for Mental Health. The head of the group was W. Rutz - WHO Mental health Officer, Mental Health Programme, WHO Regional Office (Denmark).

The group was then presented by a report made by S.I. Gavrilova "The Contemporary State of Scientific Studies on Problems of Alzhermer's Disease in Russia". Dr. V.M. Bashina made a substantial report "On problems of child autism". T.A. Solokhina made a report on "Scientific and Practical Approaches in the Provision of Quality in the services of Mental Health".

The visiting group had the possibility to visit separate clinical departments.
